What makes As You Wish Events unique?

1.  Instead of only trying to address and fix issues that may occur on your big day my goal is to prevent them!  I have created a 150+ Question survey to become the Expert of your wedding, anticipate potential mishaps, and to create your detailed personalized schedule for your review.
2.  Also, this is my full time job.  I’m not working another job and planning and coordinating weddings in my spare time.  This really affects your experience because I’m able to give you the personal attention you need during this important yet hectic time of your life, and I can respond to you in a timely manner.  I know that as an engaged couple you want answers right away!
3.  In addition we are currently offering Lots of COMPLIMENTARY Decor (certain rentals) and Free vendor referrals from our "preferred vendors" list of high quality but affordable vendors.
4.  Lastly, my pricing is absolutely the MOST AFFORDABLE for the level of Service and Experience you will receive.  Most other highly experienced coordinators ask between $1,800-$3,000 for Day-of Coordination. 

Do you have an assistant?

My "Basic Day-of Wedding Coordination package" does NOT already come with an assistant but available upon request for $25 hour for each helper.  I have employed as many as 5 assistants for one event to help with set up, clean up, and service throughout the evening.

How many weddings have you done?

I book about 25-30 events per year.

 

What sizes of weddings and events have you coordinated?

I have worked with clients with 50 guests to hundreds of guests. Despite the size of your event, our focus is to bring your vision to life and personalize it for you.

 

Do you have liability insurance?

I can attain wedding planner / coordination insurance for the particular day of your event if needed.  But usually it's covered by the client under "event insurance".

 

What if my wedding venue is really far away?
I cover up to 50 miles round trip from North Fontana, CA.  After that, there is a reasonable fee for traveling.

Will you do a Venue Walk-through?

A venue walk-through before the wedding date is NOT required or included in my "Basic Day-of Wedding Coordination package" but Highly Recommended.  I can definitely accommodate this for my hourly fee Plus mileage beyond 60 miles round trip from me in North Fontana.  Or we can do the venue walk-though on the day of your rehearsal - if on a different day other than wedding day.... I do Both the rehearsal and a venue walk-through for an extra $185 for up to 2.5 hours... plus travel for the extra day beyond 50 miles round trip from me.

 

What is the retainer/deposit for your services?

In most cases, a retainer of $350-500 (About one third to 40% down) is required to secure coordination services.  A complete breakdown of fees will be tailored to your needs prior to signing a contract.  A minimum down payment of $150 is required for Candy Buffets and $200 for florals.

 

What are the procedures of hiring As You Wish Events?
In fact, it is very simple!  Once you decide to hire me, I will send you the contract to review and a Pay Pal invoice through email.  Once I collect your filled in contract and deposit, then your date will be saved on my calendar right away!

Do you accept commissions or kickbacks from vendors?

No. I do not accept any commissions or kickbacks from vendors and will only refer qualified, reputable vendors who will best suit your needs, style, and budget.

Do you support or cater to any particular religions?

I cater to all religions.

 

What types of services do you offer?

Day-of Coordinator (Month of wedding coordination), Full Planning, Partial Planning, Consultation Only, Complete Candy Buffet Service, florals, and Low priced event rentals.

How much communication will we have?

There is no limit on email or phone communication.  We can also arrange for Skype meetings as needed.  As You Wish Events also has a policy to respond to all emails and phone messages in a timely manner. I will respond to almost all messages within 24 hours but usually respond much sooner.

How many weddings or events will you coordinate in a day?

As You Wish Events will only take one wedding or event per day per wedding consultant.

Is this your full-time job?

Yes! It sounds so cliché, but I am lucky to love my job each and every day!

How will you dress on my wedding day?

For weddings, all consultants and assistants will wear professional black or dark blue attire.

Will you eat or drink at our reception and how comfortable will you make yourself?

Since weddings can turn into 10, 12, and even 14 hour days, vendor meals during your reception are much appreciated. However, we are there to do a job and will absolutely not drink any alcohol or join your guests on the dance floor.

I have a Venue Coordinator / Catering Coordinator. Why do I still need a wedding coordinator?

A Venue Coordinator and/or Catering manger  will NOT do what your Wedding Planner or Wedding Coordinator will do for you. Venue and Catering Managers work for your venue or catering company. Your Wedding Planner or Coordinator works for YOU.  On your wedding day, their focus is delivering their contracted services, exclusively: ensuring the venue set up is accurate [tables, chairs and place setting only], the food is out and that tear down happens. In addition, a Venue Coordinator or Catering Manager often departs once the meal is served. This may be an important consideration if your are looking for support to set up your décor prior, mange your vendor team, and/or manage your event and timeline from set up through tear down. For example cueing your DJ for speeches, cake cutting, or the first dance are outside their scope of responsibilities. And remember: while you may have worked with one individual throughout the planning process, there is no guarantee that you will be provided with that same individual on your big day!

My mom or a family friend is going to help plan or coordinate the wedding. Why do I need to a professional?

On your special day, the last thing you want your mother and family friends to do is run around, setting up your wedding decor and directing all your vendors to set-up. It's only fair to have all your loved ones celebrate this special day with you. That's why we’re here! We produce a time-line that breaks down every special moment that will need to be communicated to your vendors. On the day of your wedding, we work hard to make sure all vendors are directed to the correct place, all decorations are set prior to arrival of guest, and that the first dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss and other ceremonies are produced in an appropriate fashion. This should be a stress-free day, not only for you, but also for your family and friends. We do it, so your loved ones don't have to!

 

Why should you hire a wedding Planner or consultant?

For many couples, it is their very first time planning a wedding.  They may be confused as to where to begin, how much everything costs, and how to choose vendors.  Planning a wedding is not only about choosing your colors, flowers, and menu.  There are logistical matters to attend to such as the timing of events, parking situations, and knowing which vendors are reputable.  We are here to guide you and to take care of all of these concerns.

 

A wedding planner or consultant can save you valuable time by providing you with a portfolio of preferred vendors or doing the required legwork including vendor research and selections, venue site inspections, budget management, contract reviews, time line planning from start to finish, scheduling, and so much more.  A wedding professional can save you time, energy, stress—and money. 

 

Can I afford a Wedding/Event Planner or Consultant?

We will work with you so that you can have the wedding of your dreams within your budget.  Hiring a wedding planner or consultant will help you save money by negotiating with your vendors, and by advising you where to best invest their budget and even suggest allowances.  We want you to get the best value for you budget.

My DJ said he can coordinate my wedding!.

Be weary!!!!! I  like to take pictures but I would never try to convince you to let me be your photographer. Think about this scenario...Can your DJ line up and cue the bridal party down the aisle and cue your music at the same time? Can your DJ coordinate with the caterers to get your food out on time and find out where your vegetarian meals are? Will your DJ arrive 3 hours beforehand to set up all the DIY you purchased on Etsy? Do they know where the flowers go or how to pin a corsage? Let's be realistic, they won't be able to jumble the madness if 5 guests show up without RSVPing if they are making announcements and timing your music. Leave your DJ to what they do best, playing awesome music,MC-ing, and getting your guests pumped up and off thier seats and onto the dance floor.
